Schumann Consulting was proud to join the restoration of the historic Henne Hardware building as the Owner's Representative during the construction, helping guide the project through completion while preserving one of downtown New Braunfels' most recongnizable landmarks. Henne Hardware, one of the oldest hardware stores in Texas, has been an important part of the community's history for generations. As the exterior restoration progressed, our team stepped in to represent the owner's interest, facilitate communication between the project team, and help navigate the unique challenges that come with historic preservation. Significant improvements included the restoration of historic windows, exterior facade repairs, and restoration of the hand-painted wall sign that had faded after decades of exposure to the Texas elements. Historic renovation projects require thoughtful coordination, attention to detail, and a balance between preservation and modern construction practices. We are proud to have contributed to the successful renovation of another treasured New Braunfels landmark.
